Poll: Presidential approval by state

According to Mitofsky, President Calderón was most popular in the north and south-east—regions with higher average incomes, followed by the Bajio region. His popularity was lowest in central Mexico. Exceptions to the general pattern were states with high levels of drug violence, particularly Chihuahua and Zacatecas, where approval ratings were low, and the poorest state, Chiapas, where the approval rating was high.
