Mexico gives approval for Pascual nomination

Foreign Minister Patricia Espinosa said today that Mexico gave its formal approval to the nomination of Carlos Pascual as the next U.S. Ambassador to the country. Pascual, a Cuban-American, is the director of foreign policy at the Brookings Institution. His Brookings profile says: “A former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine and senior senior director on the National Security Council staff, he focuses on post-conflict stabilization, international security policy, nonproliferation and economic development with particular focus on Europe, Russia and Ukraine.” He is a graduate of Stanford and the Kennedy School at Harvard.  (Universal 4/20, Brookings profile)
